Rock Hudson loved holidays. Especially Christmas.  His home was known to have an "Open Door Policy."  Rock would usually answer his own telephone, front doors, mail, etc. and would welcome most everyone.  The staff at The Castle all had keys and could use the amenities most always.  Here is an example of this open door policy.  He would mass mail these out to his friends and they would be able to come bye and enjoy the holiday festivities.  He loved to party!!!
