Elizabeth Taylors bag

This is a bag the was used for years by Elizabeth Taylor.  It was hers.

It was here pool/beach/water bag. 

THE STORY BEHIND IT:

I was up at here home swimming one day with Rock and when we got out of the pool and changed into dry clothes, we both stood there holding wet, dripping bathing suits. 

Elizabeth proceeded to turn this bag upside down, empty it's contents onto her dining room table and handed us this for our wet suits.  

It is old, very old and not in the best of conditions.   The zippers do work, but the leather snaps are worn off.   It is faded but it was faded when she gave it to us.   The shoulder strap is sturdy and in great shape.

A wonderful piece for a story.

IT IS AN OLD FILM REEL FROM ROCKS ORIGINAL FILM PROJECTOR EQUIPTMENT.

IT IS 22" DIA. X 3.15" WIDE

HE WOULD GET AHOLD OF FILM OF THIS SIZE, OLD FILM AND CONVERT IT TO 16 mm

THEN WHEN TECHNOLOGY ADVANCED TO CLOSED TAPES, HE BOUGHT 3/4" VCR STYLE TAPES AS OPPOSED TO 1/2" VCR.  THEN CONVERTED THE 16mm TO 3/4".  THIS REEL IS FROM HIS ORIGINAL EQUIPTMENT.

It is directly from Rock Hudson's estate.This photograph was taken by world famous Harry Langdon Jr.. He is known for taking photos of stars and becoming their friends.

Front door key to Rocks home

I just opened another box and hit the jackpot!

In it I found a few of Rock's old keys to his home and cars.   

WOW!

Very personal for sure.

This key was to his front door of his Bermuda Dunes home. 

I found it in a little manila envelope that when I opened it, it just fell apart,

but was marked "Bermuda Dunes Home".

It is stamped with his initials, something I have never before seen but came across a handful.  

WOW, AGAIN!!!

It wasn't on a key ring, but I am still going through this box and may find one or more!

This box is filled with knick-knacks of all sorts!!!!!!

GOLF CLUBS - FULL SET AND TWO PAIRS OF SHOES

Here is A set of Rocks Golf Clubs.

They were given to him on the Celebrity Golf Tournament at the Mauna Kea Resort on The Big Island in Hawaii.  There are two pair of size 13d shoes.  Extra studs, and more.

You know what they say about guys that have big hands and big feet don't you!!??!!

They wear big shoes and big gloves!!!!!!!

This set is a custom set so the clubs are mostly different.  The clubs have been well used as he was an avid Golfer.  The woods might need  minor repair.  But so does Tiger about now.   One needs rerapped.  The bag is excellent and needs nothing.  Zippers all work great.  Plus there is a Tag from The Golf Resort that says "Mr. Hudson".  There also are Palm Springs clubs as he played there often and was a member of The Bermuda Dunes Country Club.  He had a home and some land by the 5th and 4th holes there.  This is one of the four courses that hosts the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic.  The membership book and membership card plus more come with the package. It also has the orange Travel Cover. I will add the pictures later. They are there now.  Rock is wearing the one pair of shoes.  They were both his.  The bag in the picture is not the one for sale.  The Clubs are. The bag in the pictures was his "little one".  THIS IS HIS BIG ONE!!!!

This is fun!!!

It is one of those "puzzle to open" type of boxes with tons of inlay all over every side.  It is in FAIR condition,  the secret compartment works o.k.!

It measures roughly 6" x 4" x 2.5" closed. 

It has a few minor chips on it, you can see in the photos.  But overall it is in fair shape.

These items I am putting on ebay and my site have been in boxes, unpacked, for decades.   I am pulling things out that have newspaper around them from the 1970"s, 1960"s and even the 50"s and 40"s.   It is a treasure hunt for sure.

This Jade necklace is from the jewelry box of Rock Hudson.  It is individually knotted and has a silver clasp.  It is made in China.  It was a gift from Rock to his Mother, then Rock got it back after she passed in 1977. This piece is truly wonderful. 

Measures  16" x 12 mm and weighs 62.6 gms.
